List of parts:
Kuwaiti shop vac hose
High temp RTV
4' PVC
1 bracket for hanging $hit in the garage (cut in half to use as
the mounts)
Folgers plastic coffee can
Can from Never-Dull
One piece of old fuel line
random nuts and bolts
Black spray paint
Description:
I used the coffee can to seal up the air
box and, just to be safe, I bolted the edges so that the pieces
wouldn't pull away from the rtv and get sucked in. I used the
Never-Dull can to protect the intake from rain and flying mud. I
also used the fuel line to protect the hose from the jagged edge
of the metal on the cowl. The whole project took about 4 hours,
including the engineering. I tested the seals by covering the
intake before I put the cover on it, and by sealing it with my
hand I was able to kill the engine. If you're wondering about
power loss, I didn't notice any difference. It runs great. Though, when I
get on the gas, if the window is down I can hear it
howling just a little. (Sounds kinda cool!)
