Tuff Country 4" Lift Install

Here is a picture of the passenger side axle with the coil removed.

And The Driver Side with no Coil

Here are a few pictures of the finished suspension

As you can see the stock location has the brake line going around the coil and mounting on the opposite side of the coil bucket. Well I just changed the location and mounted them so they don't wrap around the coil. This gave me enough clearance for turning and the amount of travel I currently have. in the future I will probably get extended ones.

So here is a  little write up of my installation of my 4" Lift

First and Fore most....

    Disconnect Battery

Jack up front end and but jack stands on either side on frame just behind the Radius arms.

Remove front wheels, brake lines and Sway Bar

Next get to it, using a jack to keep the suspension compressed remove the shocks. Then slowly lower the jack and the coil will decompress and come out of the upper coil bucket. This may need a little persuasion once totally decompressed. Once the coil is out of the bucket you can get an extension and a big ass socket and take off the Coil retainer nut.

Now remember to keep a jack under the axle cause we don't want it on the ground just yet. Next I pulled the nut holding the steering linkage to the pitman arm and removed it. I will be installing a Drop Pitman upon reassembly.

Next is the fun part. GRIND, CHIZZZZEELLL, GRIND

Ya need to remove the stock rivets holding on the radius arm brackets to the frame. Two on each side.

Now if you are installing a Stage 1 lift (as I was) you need to be careful not to damage the stock brackets as you will be still using them. if you are installing new aftermarket radius arms (which I will do soon) then go crazy.

After you remove the Two rivets and Two bolts from each side its ready to be lowered down to start the install.

Next you have to remove the stock Rear Axle Pivot Bracket.....And Yes FOUR 4 more rivets. Careful on these ones, my brake lines were right there.

Next unbolt the Front Axle Pivot bracket and replace with new...And guess what its all bolts...NICE....

Then bolt in the rear pivot and the radius arm drop brackets

In this Picture you can see the DS Radius Arm Drop Bracket and the Front Axle Pivot Bracket

And then just lift the axles back up and bolt in... and do the coil tare down in reverse. The only Mod I had to do after the install was the Brake lines. You can buy new extended ones but I just moded the location of mine with a little ingenuity.

As you can see the stock location has the brake line going around the coil and mounting on the opposite side of the coil bucket. Well I just changed the location and mounted them so they don't wrap around the coil. This gave me enough clearance for turning and the amount of travel I currently have. in the future I will probably get extended ones.

And now I just added a few 33" Tires and a couple nice rims and bam one

NICE ASS B2
